Hi again,

I'm looking into buying a new amp for gigging, and so far I've managed to find these two:

http://www.gtrmusic.co.uk/vox-vt120-valvetronix-120watt-combo-p-233.html

http://www.soundlightuk.com/shop/products/Bugera-6262%252d212-Infinium-Ultimate-Rock-Tone-120-Watt-2-Channel-Valve-Combo-with-Reverb-and-INFINIUM-Valve-Life-Multiplier.html

I love the Bugera's sound from the clips I've listened to, and I love both the clean and the distortion channel, but from what I've heard Bugera's are incredibly unreliable and often tend to go wrong. If this wasn't the case, I'd get my ass down to a guitar store and buy one right away. (Even if it is 1:00am here in England).

The Vox seems like a pretty nice amp too, and I really like the built in effects and the amp modelling.

So which one do you think I should go for? My bands sound consists of cleans, so they are a must.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Hehe.

Bugera's haven't been exploding for quite some years now. I think they're safe now.

I'm gunna go against the people above me and say don't get a Bugera. I used to sell them and they always said the problems were fixed. The warranty may may as well be a piece of paper that says "**** YOU" as they are total pricks about it. We got so tired of dealing with their constant problems and not honoring their word. I was actually sent to the hospital from one that had a power discharge issue. I couldnt afford a lawyer but they gave me a free amp. I sold the amp right away.

As well, the tone is NOT what people say it is. he 333's sound far too bright and their gain is a total mess.

Go with a better name. Save yourself the headache.

Right now, there are six and a half billion people on earth who don't care what kind of tubes you have in your amplifier

I had the Vox and I realyyyy didnt enjoy it. You dont NEED something with 120 watts. Get something more in the range of fully tube and around 40 watts. Hell you could probably use just 15 watts. Tube wattage is gonna kick the shit out of solid wattage everytime, in sound, tone, and volume. 40 watt tube = 120 watt solid state EASILY. The versatility of the vox is cool but just not good sound quality,

Out of those two...I guess the Bugera (even though that's kind of a gamble). There are much better amps in your price range.

While I am not a fan of the cleans (they can be fine if you focus on setting that channel up JUST for cleans....I used the crunch setting more than the clean setting, hence it was optimized for crunch not clean) The Bugera is an AWESOME amp. Had ZERO problems with mine, and gave it every reason to go up in smoke and it refused.

The Vox is more versatile, but the Bugera will have it's true, un-compromised tone. The Vox will sound "good" but it's only imitating a proper head....when gigging, most won't know the difference.

The guy was talking about the Jet City 100, which is based on the SLO. So he showed the SLO as a point of comparison.

The new bugera's (with infinium tech.) dont even come out til september, so even if you chose that you'd be waiting a few months
