Im starting bass guitar and I was wondering what is a decent and affordable bass guitar, I was thinking about getting a Epiphone EB-0 for £125 , but is there another bass which is better value for money that is under £150 ?

I have no idea about prices, but I'd aviod that Epiphhone like the plague.

Have a look at Squiers, Ibanez and maybe Peavey. You might have to go second-hand.

Okay guys, I have a confession to make. Not really a confession since it's something that's been bugging me for awhile but I've always been in denial about it.

Well heres one.

Ltd B-104 Was the worst bass I ever owned, and the only one that I couldn't sell fast enough.

The Good:
the neck, and the action.

The bad:

Tone sucked, and far too much treble. there was no way to get that good old fashioned deep bassy sound, it barely had any punch as well.

OT:

Ibanez is nice, but we can throw out a million brands, go out and actually play them yourself see what you prefer.

In the end, the only question is: what bass would Jesus play?

I think he's a Fender Jazz guy.

ESP are metal basses, you can't really play much else on them tbh.

But avoid Epiphone, mud city right there.
All I want is for everyone to go to hell...

Disagree, but the lower-end ones are crap, especially for the price.

Schecter has some great low cost basses too. But for the uber low budget I'd go Squire or Ibanez.

You should get Ibanez GSR180. I own one. It's cheap and good-looking.

I agree with this. I've got Schecter and I think it plays and sounds great. I've played my friends Ibanez SR480 alot, too, and it's not bad either.
