In general I prefer strat styled instruments (Ibanez RGs, Jackson Dinkys, ESP H-series etc), but between gibson and fender id say im more LP inclined.

Anything goes here, you can use them both for anything (no matter what some folks say). Try them both, listen, feel and play... one of them will speak to you.... in my case i went strat and never went back LOL

I'll actually answer, for some reason. I like Strats better for clean rhythm, twangy percussive leads and noise. I like Les Pauls better for melodic leads, clean arpeggios or anything heavily distorted.

Les Pauls just look so tiny, like toy guitars for short people. So I go for Strats.

I prefer single coils so I'm gonna say strat.

strats can have humbuckers. and you can coil split the humbuckers of a lp......

Except strats humbuckers still sound twangy and Les Pauls single coils are.. yeah.

oh look, another "which is better" thread from mr.EDS-1275...

i like les pauls better, les pauls being my 2nd favourite gibson as opposed to the strat being my 3rd favourite fender.
I like analogue Solid State amps that make no effort to be "tube-like", and I'm proud of it...

...A little too proud, to be honest.
