Working class people in the Guangdong Province in China are protesting because of corrupt officials. This happened when a married pair of street peddlers were beat up by some cops, why? Because the cops asked the peddlers for a bribe, the peddlers were beat up when they didn't give the cops "enough" money. Hopefully this can develop into a revolution in China to overthrow the corrupt government.

Haven't these people learned that Revolution will only fuck them up. Don't they remember the last time when they ended up with Mao?

I should mention, if this revolt is successful and the "Peoples" Republic of China falls and is replaced with a less restrictive country, then there's a chance that America's $14.5 Trillion to China would be gone. Hopefully there are some Service Members and Policemen in China that side with the rioters.

Any Socialist and Communist will know that China, the Soviet Union, Cuba, and North Korea are not model examples of what true Communism is.

^^ not models of true communism indeed. But they are models of what happens when you try communism so it really doesn't matter.

lots of chinese look at mao like a hero

as a taiwanese, my family really are against what mao did. I'm pretty sure my grandparents on both sides actually immigrated from china to taiwan to avoid mao's rule.

and due, china is in fact, governed by a communist party...

They are ruled by a party that refers to itself as "Communist". Doesn't mean China is Communist.

I know, I was saying that as a joke. I remember reading somewhere that a large percentage of Russians would be okay with Stalin being in power if he was alive today.

The Mao and Stalin thing can be attributed to propaganda, and the personality cults surrounding them in their respective countries. From the sounds of it, this revolution is different from Mao's, as it's a bit more organic and hasn't been hijacked by an authoritative vanguard (yet?).

Protip: Communism has no central authority (read: government). The closest thing to real Communism in the past 150 years was actually in the British Mandate of Palestine, which is now called Israel. As in, current psychotic militaristic Israel. Yep.

OT: They're all going to get killed, people will pretend to care for twenty seconds, and China will go on treating people like shit. Just like always happens in China. Because gods forbid we run out of cheap toothpaste and lead painted baubles.

Maybe people should pay a bit more attention to history.

Never mind that would require reading and comprehending.

The sheepal in America can't be bothered by anything like that.

They're far to busy letting pendants do their thinking for them...

This. China knows they can kill all those people, and no one will really care. Some nations will call condemn it, but everyone needs shit from china so all will be forgotten when the next big news story hits.

Mhm. The sad thing is that everyone views Americans as being as ignorant as Ethan Hanus when there's actually a few of us that are capable of thinking.

There are civil uprisings and riots in China frequently over the last 5 decades. This is just one of the ones we've heard of. The government is very strict on keeping this stuff secret. It'll probably go the way every other civil uprising there does. A real revolution is going to take alot more than what's happening in the article.

The US doesn't have a $14.5 trillion debt to China. China holds $1 trillion worth of US government bonds. Don't take the total US deficit and attribute it to China. That is called being dishonest, and makes you look stupid.

And North Korea is a Democratic Republic, and aren't things just peachy there. I'm going to call my house Heaven and go through the proper legal procedures to have it named that, and because I own my house and it would be called Heaven, I will therefore be God.
