I hear this guy gets tons of chicks.

You should totally throw some of his songs in your set just to be sure you achieve your goal.
Do you feel warm within your cage?

And have you figured out yet -

Porn Star Dancing is in Drop-C#... shouldn't be that different played in drop-C... vocals will be in a different key, but a VERY dance-able song

Haha, I was gonna ask if this made me a sellout but how can one sellout when one hasn't even played live????

The consensus of the band is to play venues (sooooooo many in Vegas) to get some stage presence and get a chance to work together, since we're new (band-wise) to each other.

I'm a metalhead at heart but know business is business. I've got 7 completed original songs songs in my back pocket for once we start doing originals.

EDIT: And NO ****ing bieber, nickelback, fallout boys, simple plan, etc. will be played....................unless bitches demand it

Nope, they certainly are not. Not even Toxicity. At all.

Last Serenade would be as close as we allow for now. Though I Will Be Heard by Hatebreed is something i'm pushing for, and i dislike Hatebreed immensely. Can't say thats not a catchy song Bodies by Drowning Pool as well.

My original stuff is on youtube, same username as here on vids name. Listen and tell me its not metal

maybe you just don't know how business works in a party oriented city
#12
Maybe you just don't know how the Pit works or how to navigate to the correct forum on a guitar oriented website.

You wanna cover radio friendly songs? Listen to the radio and copy what you hear.

listen guy, the topic isn't specific enough to where it HAS to fall under a specific type of thread, so the pit works fine besides, had a thread similar to this with 80 responses awhile back in the Pit.
You have beef with the topic and my view on "bitches", thats all

Any other suggestions fellow Pit Mongers?
#14
I don't really have beef with anything you said, honestly. I just think it's a stupid question. The radio plays radio friendly songs all day long. Why aren't you listening to what's the played in the area you want to cover?

As far as your view on 'bitches,' you're young. It'll change when you grow.

Hopefully.

Abridged - I don't care what you think about bitches and don't have beef with you, cuz; listen to the radio for what you want to know.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

A respectful answer, ty.

Bitches is just a term for that stero-typical lady who loses all manners and common decentcy just cause she's in Vegas, or any other party town for that matter. Theres probably 4 "bitches" out of every 5 women here at night, and those are the people to catur to. Just business

Hmmm...Motley Crue is def goodtime fun metal. I didn't them to singer cause not sure if he can cover them correctly. Also, a lot of their solos have whammy stuff....we dont have guitars with whammy bars
#19
Its not metal, but play Skillets Monster. Its in drop C, ,and pretty popular
I'll pretend I can mod your amp but break it instead.

Nice suggestion. Have heard it on the radio plenty here.

Just talked to singer and he said 'whispers in the dark' and 'comatose' are more popular

Checking..........

EDIT: Yeah, comatose for sure. I like monster better (the vox at 2:18 live would be sick, lol), but its not as familiar as comatose

Nirvana - Son Of A Gun (The Vasolines cover)

In standard, but I'm sure you guys have some backup instruments in standard

Now a couple in C:

Nirvana - Blew
Queens Of The Stone Age - Sick, Sick, Sick (Actually in C standard, but Drop C is close enough)

oh shit, how could I forget:

Queens Of The Stone Age - Misfit Love

once again, in standard tuning

Don't get me wrong, Lollipop's rather fun to play just simple beyond belief

Radio friendly, popular, Rock?

Sounds a lot like Chuck Berry... maybe ZZ Top or George Thorogood as well.

Jailhouse Rock.

Seriously, everyone can dance to a 4/4 8-bar blues shuffle. It's catchy, fun, you can do pretty much anything over it, and as long as your last note is in-key, it'll sound cool, and it's one of the big early rock hits. It's a great song for covering. And throw in the ending Queen used here (No idea what it's called, but I know it's something common, as I've heard it in a lot of early 12-bar rock & roll songs) if you do - Nothing beats that ending for that kind of song to me.

Maybe look into some Lady Gaga too. It's not as bad as most of the internet hypes it as, it's modern pop, she dances to it, so it's danceable, and if you mess with the arrangement, you can have a lot of fun with it.

What do I see when the last link loads? "Grinderman - Worm Tamer"

Wasn't specifically for you >_> although, TS should cover grinderman.

Also you shoulda posted a load of early qotsa stuff, they've gone all bad ever since Josh Homme forgot how to turn the bass all the way up and kicked out Nick Oliveri.

Famous movie themes are always a hit. I'm on vacation in Vegas right now, this street performer was raking it in playing things like Star Wars on the bagpipes.
That said, Van Halen and AC/DC should go over quite well.
I'm rgrockr and I do not approve of this message.

You like kyuss too so i'm surprised you don't agree ._. Josh Hommes tone has definatly become worse and worse at least.. Now it sounds like he's always on the bridge pickup which is questionable to begin with, and not even using good sounding fuzz
