Name some opinions that you think share common origins.

If you aren't sure what I mean, it's like how beliefs come from insecurity. Like I think that the reason a lot of people strongly believe in heaven is because the thought of no afterlife can be very frightening. Obviously that doesn't apply to everyone and all.

I've always thought that the reason so many people are attracted to LaVeyan Satanism is because they think it's cool and dark and they like the idea of telling christians they're a satanist.

I think the reason a lot of kids like classic rock is that they secretly want approval from their parents.

This doesn't go for all of them, so don't get all butthurt if you're 15 and love Led Zep.

I think your avatar looks like the crazy girl from The Breakfast Club because your posts read like something she would say.

But it's Syd, so he'd probably just say something about having a refrigerator and a color telly.

I think most people (who like metal) hate on core bands because they want to fit in on the internet.

I think people become politically conservative because they're small-minded and fearful of what they don't understand.

I think people started identifying as 'tea partiers' because they realized that following the presidency of George W. Bush, 'Republican' was a completely discredited label, but they're too pigheaded to consider why. So they merely adopted a new pseudonym.

I think people join the 9/11 truth movement because they're bored and want to seem underground and subversive, but they're either too stupid or too lazy to familiarize themselves with issues that actually matter.

I think Ron Paul fanboys have consumed contaminated water.

I think Ayn Rand fanboys, similarly to 9/11 truthers, really want to be subversive and radical, but are too cowardly to do so in a manner that actually threatens the existing order of things. They may also just have an inferiority complex when it comes to the wealthy.

I think 'nihilist' black metal fans and other types who believe in that anus.com stuff are just malcontents.

I post the trollface but the preceding posts are in fact my genuine opinions.

the opinion that it is okay to kick peoples' bicycles originates from stupidity.
There's no such thing; there never was. Where I am going you cannot follow me now.

This depends on how you're defining opinions. If you mean opinions in the totally abstract, then they don't really originate. If you mean opinions as specific instances of these abstractions made manifest in people's minds, then they originate in the mind. If you're asking what causes specific opinions to become manifest in people's minds, then that's a question far too complicated to answer.

Define politically conservative.

As opposed to the revolutionary socialist types around here who are all just shits and giggles, right? The only self-described misanthrope around here is a lefty, and the self-described assholes are a wonderful, multicultural, multipolitical group that represents all of God's blessed children.

Err..

Wrong picture, bro?

I think a lot of people are dicks on the internet because they enjoy the anonymity. They're probably the people who are relatively reserved in nature.

I think a lot of people who extensively look up facebook/twitter etc. and think it's great like it only to keep themselves busy and stimulated, a fear from boredom.

Parents.

My parents never showed any interest in religion as I was growing up, even though they both were religious, and I grew up an atheist because of it.

I think people who glamourize the media/Hollywood and talk about actors and actresses like they're besties are trying to compensate for their real life loneliness. (My parents)

I think about 30% of people are what you said.
Probably about 60% are just people who have took a slight interest and have been sucked so far into it that it's all that they can believe at this point.
The other 10% are folks who are familiar with the current america government, other prominent governing bodies and the inner workings of how a nation runs, these people believe it because they know exactly who is capable of doing it, and how.

Not going to quote all of them lewl.

People only post in this thread because they think their ideas are controversial and will piss someone off and they'll gain UG fame for two minutes. In reality the views expressed in this thread are common among idiots and attention *****s.

I can see what you mean..."tea partiers, ayn rand fans, 9/11 truthers, ron paul fans, and conservatives in general are stupid" are all quite controversial statements roughly on par with Martin Luther's Theses

We're all products of our environments. Opinions are heavily influenced by those we love and those we hate but, either way, it's the ones we spend the most time with.

I know there's going to be a few people disagreeing with me on this, but opinions are taught. Not all of them, obviously, but many.
