Hey,

So does anyone know any places in the UK that do good guitar kits?

So far I've only found:

http://www.guitar-kits.co.uk/electric-guitar-kits/?page=1

Who look okay.

The problem is for £100 a kit, I doubt they're that good quality wise...

Edit: http://www.diyguitarshop.co.uk/kits.htm#lp Also looks good. I imagine with a lot of hardware changes, they'd be pretty good?

Hi. Can someone tell me which guitars are real 24 fret guitars and which are just 22 fret guitars with 2 extra frets added on?

The Stingray-style bass kit from the store you first mentioned is pretty interesting, i'll keep an eye on it until it comes back in stock... Looks like it would be a nice project for me to practice.
Thanks for the link!

CHGuitars.co.uk has bodies and necks that you can buy. Axesrus has a selection too, and Tonetech have recently introduced a range.

No worries Linkerman

Mint, all look intresting, thank you. I forgot about Tonetech completely! -.-

I got a Tele kit from DIY Guitar Shop a while back and I loved the result. The hardware is Wilkinson I believe, which seems to get a good rep considering how low the prices are. The pickups sound good and the tuning stability is, for the most part, good.

Here's a link to the thread I made on my build. It was my first and I wasn't too ambitious (only really gave it a few clear coats), but it might give you an idea of the quality of the kits.

That's a perfect thread for me, thank you!

The quality looks really good, although I'm sure some of that is your doing also..

I asked the owner if they'd sell just the body and neck, and depending on the price I get quoted I may buy upgraded hardware straight from the off, to save me doing it later.

Seems as it's a few years old for you now, how would you say it is? No warping or anything broken?

Thanks again!

I've only had it up and running since about the end of January but I've had no problems yet.
