So I was watching some new live videos of Slipknot, and noticed Mick Thomson is using a different guitar. It seems to be a Ibanez, but has a body modeling a B.C. Rich. I don't keep up on Ibanez guitars to much, so is this a new model coming out? Is this just a custom guitar for Mick that won't reach production? I was just curious, thanks!

Yeah it exists, one of their new "extreme" bodies guitars.

CBA to find the name though, it is probably on the japanese Ibanez site.

Pretty sure Mick played B.C. Rich's before, so I'd guess that they made it to go with his old look??

I thought he played Schecter now.

If he does, Ibanez could get in a lot of trouble. He's got multiple signature guitars through them still.

Alot of guys play guitars that arn't from who they are endorsed with... I an't think of any off the top of my head right now but i've seen it happen. The guys may not have photo shoots etc. with another brand etc. or Promote/publicize it.... but alot of them do swap out guitars live for other brands. I've heard slash has a few main guitars which arn't gibsons and that are similar guitars but custom made from a private luthier.

No he doesn't.

To go along with tofuhead, Jim Root is actually one of them. He is endorsed by Fender, but also uses a Gibson Flying V.
