Hi Folks,

Today, I decided to upgrade the pots and cap on
my VM P Bass that I bought on Memorial Day.

I bought it new at GC,

I was going to replace some wiring, BIG SUPRISE

Not only was it wired correctly,,,,, it has shielded
wire
where it is needed.

Not only that,,,,,, it has thick shielding paint that is
connected to ground using a grounding strap!!!

Solder joints are done well with short exposures to
un-shielded areas. It could be neater, but it's fine
because what is needed is done right.

That's why it is so quiet.

I installed 2-500k pots and a cap a friend gave me.

Some folks say that the 500k pots don't make any
difference.

I beg to differ,,,,,,,,,, Proof's in tha puddin,,,,,,,,

I am impressed with the quality of my VM P Bass
even more now that I took a look under the hood.

I am so glad I got this bass.

No buyer's remorse here,

Cool beans, what cap your friend give you? My dad I found out has a engineer box of like a million caps orange drops and mica in every single variation as well as polyester, it's so great.

thanks for the good review on this bass. it will make it that much easier to buy a new vm as opposed to a used affinity.

So that's why my friends Squier VM \P is so quite compared to MIA P.
Damn it! Disable can't use disable to disable Disable's disable because disable's disable has already been disabled by Disable's disable!

I don't know what kind of cap it is.
I don't know about caps. That's why
I got a cap form a friend who knows
about electronics.

I can tell you that it is orange,

The quality of the cap doesn't really matter in a simple low pass filter like this, as the cap is only working to take of the treble, it's not doing anything more. So don't spend loads on them!
In the bass chat:

<Jon> take the quote of me out your sig plx

For sure, I'm using them to mod an amplifier where I think it should have more of a significance. I was just excited but also curious what he used on his P bass tone.
