Just always wondered. I've worked for Delta almost two years now, and always wondered if there were any other pit dwellers who shared my pain.

Primarily I park planes at their respective gates, assist with special needs passengers (if they need a wheelchair, etc), unload/load bags, work at the ticketing counter.

Wtf. Those are unsual tasks because you do stuff that sound pretty normal with assisting passengers but you park planes? Like you actually get in the cockpit?

Hahaha, everyone asks me that. No, I don't get in the cockpit.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pcp-Jqi_ndA I'd be the one standing in front of the plane in this scenario.

It's a town of 8,000, but it's on a great circle route between America and Europe. Used to be one of the busiest US and NATO bases in the world during the Cold War and the 90s. His father owns an airline and he's been attending summer flying school since he was 9 or 10, he's currently the second youngest person in Canada to have their private license.

Ha makes around $22.50 an hour too, and sometimes works 12 hour shifts. Got almost $2200 on his last paycheck, lucky bastard.

The base/airport he works in:

I put a ton of my capital into SW Airlines... The next day, THE NEXT DAY these nutters fly into the WTC. What the hell? Apparently no one wanted to fly anymore, and I was like "What gives? God damnit Osama, let me win a fuggin' game!"
