It's this tapping riff on the A string I improved last night. That counts right? Riffs we wrote? I rarely learn songs. It's fast triplets of 12-5-8 (x4) 11-5-8 (x4) 10-5-8 (x4) 11-5-8 (x4). (i.e. Tap on 12, pull off onto 5 and hammer on 8)

One of the riffs in the middle of Joe Bonamassa's version of Just Got Paid/Dazed and Confused
'And after a while, you can work on points for style.
Like the club tie, and the firm handshake,
A certain look in the eye and an easy smile.'

'You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to,
So that when they turn their backs on you,
You'll get the chance to put the knife in.'

Worked out the main riff in Judas by Lady GaGa a few days ago on my 6-string using the lowest octave of C, it sounds beasty (uses the C minor scale if anyone's interested)

Love that song already

I've beginning to learn Beyond This Life by Dream Theater; got some killer riffs.

The last song I learned on guitar, that wasn't on my acoustic was....Laid to Rest (LoG) about 3 months ago, maybe a bit more.

No offense, but that sounds impressively boring.

I was jamming with friends two days ago and one us wanted to attempt Monkeywrench by the Foo Fighters, so that.

Sharp Dressed Man (took me all of 5 minutes), and then directly after that Got Me Under Pressure, both by ZZ Top, finally sat down and learned them about a week ago.

I learned the harmonized lead part about two thirds of the way through of The Unknown Guest by Cynic. I think I'm going to tackle the ending solo of How Could I next

It ain't easy to play sharp dressed man though, you need to attack the guitar.

Midnight-Joe Satriani

not exactly a riff, nevertheles, easy and fun to play, creates sort of mind****-texture

Or that Doors one where you trill the G sharp.

other than learning to play my own riffs, which are undoubtedly cooler than any riffs by any other band ever, that last cool riff i learned was "Say It Ain't So" by Weezer.
There's no such thing; there never was. Where I am going you cannot follow me now.

Just Got To Be by The Black Keys, a fun riff that suits my abilities quite well I think.

Sir, the contents of my mouth just blew all over my keyboard, desk, and part of my monitor. For the record, it was slightly chewed Keebler cookies and coffee slurry.

The average pitmonkey's response to my jokes.

I actually think that riff is quite... ackward.
