The last couple of weeks at rehearsals I have experienced the following issue; I’ve been playing through the neck pickup on my SG and have the volume on the bridge unit rolled back so I can silence the guitar at the end of the song. However when I flick back to the bridge and turn the volume back to full there is little coming through the amp – it’s on 10 but sounds more like 2 or 3.
I’ve found that rolling the volume all the way off, flick back to the neck pickup then strumming, switching back to the bridge and increasing the volume pot brings it back to full and there’s no further issues for the remainder of rehearsals and the free-form jam we indulge in at the end.

Any suggestions as to the cause and a possible cure?

It's an opinion. It's subjective. And I'm right, anyway.
