so i got some new strings that i wanted to put on my guitar and i realized that the bridge was just a bit grimey so i took it out and cleaned it and now i can't seem to put it back they way it was before

what bridge is it?

illl just edit in what i did when i had this problem

i put the bridge(an edge 3 at the time) in the guitar on the posts and blocked it so that it cant move in either way and then attached the springs(this was the toughest part after i cut myself) and some strings and removed the block and then tuned up for the next half hour

This.

Unless we know what kind of bridge it is, we can't really give you resources to help you. Is it a Floyd Rose?
