Well, a screwed-on pickguard is a sign of a cheap instrument... Also, that stamped-steel tailpiece is not exactly top-quality either.
Likely it's one of many thousands of inexpensive guitars churned out in Japan during the "boom" of the 70s and early 80s. Often these were produced in big factories for several different marketers; many sold through catalogues and such.
Without a further label, it may not be possible to get any real information on it.

Bottom line... If it sounds decent and plays well you're golden. A lot of those mass-produced Japanese guitars were actually quite well-made.
