Ok guys I have a simple but maybe a noob question
How should I practice? Atm Im learning Sweating Bullets solo and im doing good, this is how I work:

I practiice with metronome at 100 BPM, found thats good enough speed to start.
This solo has like 2 major parts, first is some chromatic run I believe up the scale, second is some hammer ons and pull offs. Should I first learn whole solo at 100 BPM, or part by parts. Thanks

You could learn it in little segments and then put them together.

So say you decide to divide it up into 5 parts.

Master each one individually.

Then learn how to transition from 1 to 2.
Then forget about 1 and learn how to transition from 2 to 3.
Then you should, in theory, be able to play 1, 2, and 3 smoothly as one piece. You get the point. Do this for all the pieces you divide it up into.

It feels so low, I can't do it at half speed yet.. what should I do? Guess practice and practice will get me speed?

How should I practice it? Other parts of solo I can do but this one is tough one! :<

Sorry mate... theres no quick answer... except play it over... and over... and over...

If you cant play it slow then you wont be able to play it fast, so if theres bits your having trouble with, slow them down and play them...over... and over.... and over....

If you still cant play the solo, then you havent played it over...and over... enough

Sorry mate you just have to stick at it. It will take time. Maybe a long time.

It's the same as all other harmony. Surround yourself with skulls and candles if it helps.

Thanks mate, I'll stick to ths solo.. I know I can play it..

But one thing would help me out, what kind of scale is that in CODE, some E minor pentatonic?
#7
Looks like G major/E minor but I'm no expert so don't take my word for it. :-p
#8
Well, it has all the natural notes, so likely Am or C. I'd guess Am. What chords are going on during this part?

Should I alternate pick this run? Cause I can do nearly full speed while downpicking everything, and when i try to alternate pick i miss lotsa notes. Would downpicking that run be a harm for my technique or its just whatever feels better?
#12
Altenate pick it. You may be able to downpick it but what happens when you want to play something faster. It's a bit like not using your little finger. You can play things without it but it makes wide stretches easier so you should do it.
Just learn how to do it and then you can ignore it and choose to use something else because it sounds different of gives a different feel/sound instead of not doing it because just because you're not able to do it well.
