Im buying a buddy an Ibanez ARZ800 as a wedding gift, so I figured I'd ask you fine folks what the best (guitar related) gift you've ever recieved or given?
(willing to bet someone somewhere got a Private Stock)

My Ibanez S670, so versatile and it's exactly what I wanted. Best Christmas ever.

I had this gift one year. On reflection, I'd of prefered a wah wah pedal.

when i was about 6 or 7 years old i found a bass in a cupboard i probably shouldn't have been looking in in the first place. i seem to remember my dad said "you need an amp to be able to hear it, and i don't have one anymore" and put it away again.

anyway, when i was about 14 i found it again, got it out and played it for a bit, and my dad noticed i was playing it and said "oh you found my old bass? i haven't played it for years, you might as well have it."

it turned out to be a 1978 rickenbacker 4001

i did give a friend one of my squier teles that i never play anymore, but she gave it back when she went to university, i think it was because she had her own guitar by then and didn't have room for another.
I like analogue Solid State amps that make no effort to be "tube-like", and I'm proud of it...

...A little too proud, to be honest.

i don't even have a driving license let alone a car. gear is more important.. although one day i'm gonna need to arrange my own transport..

A friend gave this to me just cause I wanted a second guitar for different tunings, Except it has a duncan 59 in the neck and a fender atomic humbucker in the bridge.

Gear:
Shecter Omen 6 with Seymour Duncan SH-6
Epiphone Les Paul Standard
Fender Frontman 25r (crappy)
MXR CAE WAH
Digitech HardWire TL-2 Metal Distortion (Makes the amp sound not shitty)

I was given £200 to put towards guitar gear. I bought a wah pedal with it. Suppose that'd technically be a gift. Otherwise, a strap.
#22
well, my dad payed quite a few thousand rand (10 000 in fact) as an upgrade to my classical guitar: my Takamine EAN60C...which I'm very grateful for. Oh, also my Boss ME-70

but as a birthday/Christmas gift (I forget which), a Joyo JT-11 tuner from my brother in law.

Every other piece of equipment I have, I have in some way contributed to it financially.

My Uncle said he would give me a Melody Maker next time I come out to Pennsylvania.

Going out in August. I hope he's not lying.

If getting money to buy something nice is considered a gift, then my Vox V845.
If that doens't count, money that I later used to buy gear is my best bet.
There are people here who gave or received gifts worth more than my entire gear lol.

My girlfriend bought me a Red Witch Famulus distortion pedal. It just oozes sweet saturation.
And a gift I've given...I bought my brother a Mapex Black Panther snare drum, I don't know anything about it's specifications, he picked it out, I bought it.

And by the way, if anybody has yet to check out Red Witch pedals, do so now! I've recently added the Red Witch Medusa chorus/tremelo pedal, and the combination of the two is far beyond satisfactory. Great pedals!
I have felt the taste of sound.
