This looks like something inlaidartist on Ebay would have done, especially because he's Vietnamese, and I've seen him use those inlays. Nice bass though.

Spector and Warwick, among a few others use Zebra wood a fair bit.

Just go play the bass, it looks nice enough.

Zebra wood is used for TOPwood... i saw few guitars and basses that uses it for a better look and brighter sound
