I've been using a powered speaker for a pa. Everything was fine but recently the band moved into an actual studio(from an attic) and this 200w powered speaker will not keep up with my 30w amp(or 5w for that matter) or drums for practice. Do I need a vocal preamp? It has phantom powered xlr's and an eq so before I've just plugged my sm58 straight into it. It is a harbinger, should I just scrap it and get a real pa? I was hoping to do that a lil later down the road. Its suppose to be 200w and I have nothing else plugged into this thing so is there anyway to help it? I know this is a guitar site but I somehow doubt I'm the only guitarist that sings here.

You'll need a mixer or something of that ilk.
