Hey guys,
I was just fooling around on guitar and I wrote a riff that goes like this:

e|---------------------------------------------------------------|
B|---------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-------7------9---7------------7---------9------------------|
D|---9------9-----------9---9--------9--------7--------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------|

So I was thinking of chords that work well behind this and one that I thought of was this:

e|--------------------------------------------------------------|
B|--------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-----7---------------------------------------------------------|
D|-----9---------------------------------------------------------|
A|-----7----------------------------------------------------------|
E|-----7----------------------------------------------------------|

Is 1-b3-4 a real chord? Does this chord have a name?

*EDIT* Yikes. That tab was messed up! Sorry.

wow man sort out the code. from what you've said, it could be a 7th with no 3rd in 2nd inversion. or just a suspension maybe, depending on how you're playing it.

When I further analyzed it, I figured out it follows this:

1-b3-4. Does this chord have a name?

Bm4?
Then there's this band called Slice The Cake...

Bunch of faggots putting random riffs together and calling it "progressive" deathcore.
Stupid name.
Probably picked "for teh lulz"

Wait a minute I tabbed the chord with the fifth and fourth. I made a mistake. The chord should be 1 b3 4. Not 1 b3 4 5.

No. The chord is made up of 1 b3 4. Not 1 b3 5

He said he'd use Bm because the riff is mostly root and minor third with a non chord tone thrown in there.
^^The above is a Cryptic Metaphor^^

The chord you've written looks like an E7(no 3)/B.

I posted before he made an edit on his original post.

Yeah, I didn't read your post properly, I thought you were asking for a chord to use behind your melody.

I can write a coherent tune ... But 3/4? I play rock, not polka.

Try Bsus4 over that riff.

As for that chord, Power Tab says Bmadd11.
