Parts:
Body: Telecaster Flame figured maple on Mahogany back. LP routed.
Neck: Telecaster neck pocket and headstock. Birdeye maple fingerboard on birdeye maple. 43mm standard nut. Standard Thin profile. Stainless steel frets.

Both Warmoths of course.

Bridge: Gotoh Tuneomatic & stop tail (aluminium)
Pickup: Seymour Duncan Hot Rodded (JB/Jazz)
Sperzels Locking tuners
And the rest, pots, straplocks and stuffs...

---------------------------------------------------------
So the body first. Here's how it looks original:

Front

Back

Dye the back to get dark red mahogany and sanded it smoothly

....

Oh NOES!

No problem! Sanded it right back!

The black dye went on and sanded off a few times. Here's how it looks like currently

Even though I only mean to do this to enhance the flame figure it already turned out great looking. Almost made me to apply the clear coat already xD But no! I have to be patience. What I am planning now is to apply dark blue into this finish and make the finish somewhat like a deep ocean burst or something. Don't have any blue dye yet but I will probably find some in my local store after work tomorrow.

Also, as I'm not dead-set on the blue finish yet. If you think a color would look cool with this burst base please recommend it and I might consider doing it instead.

Cheers!

I like how it is now but if you're set on adding another colour then I think blue would look good.

in the second to last pic you get an idea of what a natural to dark burst would look like, and i like that.
were you thinking light to dark blue or black? or dark blue to black? what dye are you using and how do you plan to apply the burst?
i almost think a natural to dark gray burst would look good on that!

i have to say, this is the first tele project i've seen that i actually like.

thats awesome.

Personally I think I'd clearcoat it at this point (assuming the pictures are doing it justice). It almost looks like tiger stripes!

Dark blue would be pointless and ruin it. Either stain it with a light red, or leave it how she is and clear coat it.

A nice Yellow or emerald green would complement the flame.

That body looks sick! nice job.

You know, I've never been a huge tele person, but recently I've accepted them (still having a problem with the SG though, I don't know whats wrong with it - I just don't like it). This is just pure awesome though. 2 humbuckers, rear routed, telecaster.... I like it.

Telecasters are like VW, theres not much you can do to them to make them look bad :P

Just clear coat it; adding any other color would completely ruin it.

Many have said it and so shall I..........Leave it and Clearcoat it......looks good as is.
That's my opinion, but hey is your guitar...........do what you feel to be right for you.

I've always been a fan of Telecasters and that has to be one of the sexiest Tele bodies I've seen! Just clear coat it, people will be drooling when they see that axe completely set up!!

Acutally yes, add a yellow to it to enhance everything. I used a stain called Sesame on Neils Tele and it was awesome, and could possibly work for you, or use something a tad brighter and less vintage.

Just found this guitar with quite similar figure as mine. This green looks quite nice I must say.

Tortoise. it's close to a hue of the old tele's but would bring out the figure nicely.

it's basically a dark amber, would look sweet.

nicely done so far.
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger, then it hit me.

The only real answer to the SG vs Les Paul debate is to get a Flying V and laugh at all the suckers who don't have one.
