So the bridges on my 2 guitars (one floyd, one tune o matic) are in chrome metal. I have had one for a year, and one for a half year. What i noticed was that the color of the hardware is getting brighter where i palm mute (it looks really ugly). It looks like some sort of paint on top of the brighter metal bridge. Is it supposed to be this way, or is it just that i have cheap hardware?
That happens to any guitar that the player palm mutes alot. I have a PRS and the nickel finish has worn off the tremilo in spots and the Brass is showing through. Its just a sign that you play the crap out of your guitar, and that even the more expensive brands can have things that are thought to be "unacceptable" in most peoples eyes.
