hi, i wasn't sure on where to post this but i do music at my school, and i have an analysing assignment that i did last term but ended up getting a B- and i want to get an A so i'm repeating it. anyway, my teacher suggested i do a "compare and contrast" like all the other students but i'm unsure of what songs to do.
what are some really good songs (from any genre) that has a good cover version too. (and if possible have sheet music for either or both songs).

'You Really Got Me' by The Kinks and the cover by Van Halen. Different enough to compare and contrast; but Kink's version is soo much better. Van Halen turned it into an 80's piece of sh!t. The harmonies are terrible and Eddie is abysmal.
"I Shot the Sheriff" by Bob Marley and covered by Eric Clapton.

"Whiskey in the Jar" Old Irish Folk covered by Thin LIzzy and then Metallica

"(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" The Rolling Stones vs. Devo.

Or Otis Redding.
