Im a guitar player. I have a drum pad to use to work on rythms and rytmic ideas etc...(mabye i will buy a set in the future somtime) Do you guys know where i can find exerzises/rythm examples to use on the drum pad?

Also, you can practice the framework of grooves even just stomping on the floor and playing on the pad, ie. a rock beat's rhythm will not change even if you don't have any actual drums or cymbals to play it on.

OP, one other thing I've been doing is looking up videos of marching band kids playing cadences on snares and practice pads and trying to loosely emulate what they're doing, which is helping me play more expressively and experiment with incorporating rudiments (especially rolls and multiple bounces).

Also, if you've got a big practice pad (mine is 12") you can divide it up with two imaginary perpendicular lines and, voila, you have 4 mini practice pads. Use them to practice keeping time with your right hand (on the "hi-hat") and hitting the "snare" with your left, and you can even practice fills too.
