This song doesn't have a rhyme scheme, or any set syllables per line. One day I just sort of... Vented through my keyboard in a few minutes and this came out. It may seem a little cliché, but hey, can feelings be cliché?

Also, the last line may seem completely random and ambiguous, but it makes sense to me, and I'm not going to explain it.

Lyrics by Cody Gudmundsen

My Past In The Present

When I look in the mirror, I can't help it
I see your eyes in mine
Blank stare, yet so revealing.
Scorned, but yearning
I've been stained
I'm tainted with memories
Every moment we shared, every word spoken -
Surfaced with a simple glance

I'm blue, I know you are too
Just look into our eyes

I made you laugh, you made me cry
For aeons it seems
Why do I still love you?
Even though I'm back where I started
I feel so unlike myself
Unfortunately, "myself", lies within you
I'd like it back please
But I want you to have it... Weird

I'm blue, I know you are too
Just look into our eyes

Every time I see your face -
I get more confused
It's just not like you treat me like this
That beautiful smile seems so sinister now
There's just gotta be -
Gotta be one vessel in there pumping some sympathy
Maybe a little regret, that would be nice
At least a f*ckin' apology

I'm blue, I know you are too
Just look into our eyes

If this works, you better not f*ck up my gene pool

Some of it's a little cliche, but it's well written. I like the way it progressively gets more angry towards the end. Well done
