I just recently found out about this concept. I understand that the spacing is wider on these pickups but what is the sound difference if you were to use a f spaced vs a humbucker on a floyd rose? Also what about on a 7 string? If i were to buy new pickups for a 7 string they dont come in the trem spaced versions do they?

Why would a company manufacture a pickup to a different spec if it offered no advantage? Next.

because wider spaced strings look odd with thin spaced pins on a pickup, obviously there's advantage to 7 string pickups 'cause they're wider to cope with the extra string.

Alright so it makes no difference basically. Im not sure you understand my question regarding the 7 string. I was simply wondering if there were 7 string trembuckers available. But since it makes no difference the question is irrelevant

There is a difference in that the strings sit right over the pole pieces. In theory it would seem to make a difference but in practice (at least in my experience) it doesn't sound any different, just looks a little "off".
