I love the tone of the bass on all the Iron Maiden albums. It has that "bright" tone which I really like. My question is how can you get that type of tone? Or is it just the playing style (Like slapping) ?

P.S: I am no bassist. I am just curious, I want to get a similiar tone on the bass for my first album (solo).

Thanks,

Okay guys, I have a confession to make. Not really a confession since it's something that's been bugging me for awhile but I've always been in denial about it.

Play really hard with fingers, so the strings hit the frets and make a percussive sound. That's the main thing.

It would be really stupid to replace flats daily IMO

I'm with you, but when you got the money to do what you want... you do what you want. He's definitely the anti Jamerson if it's true.

What amp did he use?

Hiwatt clone preamp and a power amp I've never heard of 'C-Audio SR707' apparently. Also Marshall 4x12s
