hi
i recently bought a orange 100watt rockeverb mk2 with a 4x12 cab.
this amp is absolutely great but when my guitar is plug with the gain high of the dirty chanel there is a lot of noise on the line....
the only pedal i use is a boss noise supressor

i am wondering if ist my guitar humbuker pick up or something in the amp.
when i turn on the amp by itself without anything plugged in there is no noise.

from what i read on the net it could be the pre amp tube !

Please let me know what you think of it.

cheers!

Unwanted noise from a loud high gain amp? Who'd have thought?!

But seriously, yes your pickups could be the culprit. Make sure in good nick, not microphonic etc. Maybe try active pickups if you want less noise at good volumes.

Could also be noise introduced from whatever mains circuit you're plugging it into. I use a power conditioner sometimes if the power circuit seems noisy.

Bad tubes could also be a cause.

If there's no noise when your guitar isn't plugged in, it's your guitar or cables. Make sure you're using decent shielded instrument cable and not speaker cable.
