hi guys I was wondering, can a blackstar s1 100 do metal? and I mean deth metal, tech metal, and stuff that needs tons of gain and a tight sound, I just got a bargain of one slling by just 1000 dollars new, but I need an amp that can pair up to a peavy 6505 or a mesa dual rectifier, there isnt a lot of info of this amp, and the vids I've found sound rather like heavy overdrive than metal distortion

the difference isnt that big. tubes arent as different as everyone thinks. the character is somewhat different and there is alot more headroom and volume but generally they are similar. the 200 will sound a bit more american, and the 100 will be british. for an opeth-y katatonia(i just remembered they use them, they had them when i saw them, they use both models, so they can definitey both keep up with each other) type gain/tone thats the 100. the 200 may sound a tad more "brutal" (i cant believe i just used the word lol) but imo they both have more gain than you would ever really need.
