Well the title basically sums it up. I hate the fact that the rg370dx is a floating trem and it is impossible to down tune without spending an hour with the springs. I personally do not even use the tremolo so I think its not worth all this trouble. Im wondering should I get a g-400 or even upgrade to a Gibson SG classic.

The G-400 is a good guitar with bad pickups. If you don't mind swaping them out, The G-400 is the better guitar. You get an all mahogany set neck guitar, vs a basswood body and maple neck.

do you already have the ibanez, and are asking if it's worth upgrading to the epi? i suspect that's what you're saying, but it's fairly difficult to glean much info from your slightly cryptic post

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

I think in this case you have to go with the Epi. Just a better guitar overall.
Gibson Les Paul Classic
Fender Stratocaster (Mexican)
Hagstrom Ultra Swede
Music Man Axis Sport

Yea, I have the rg370dx and was just wondering was it worth selling and buying the g-400 but as of right now I have my mind focused on buying the gibson sg classic that will last me a lifetime im assuming.

yeah i mean the epi is probably more of a step sideways than a step up. fair enough if you like it more and it suits you more, but you might end up spending money to end up with something which is roughly as good as what you already have...

Sell the RG and buy a used Epi, and save up for a Gibson. That way, you won't lose any money while getting a guitar you like playing more.

oh yeah i mean if you prefer the sg and can switch without losing too much money, then that's definitely worth considering.
