1) In the first verse of Sweet Child O mine shown below, do the circles around
the 14th and 13th fret mean just continue holding the note for the duration of the next bar?

(adjusted for standard tuning)

2) In the interlude of Sweet Child O mine shown below, does the symbol for slide and hammer on at the same time mean legato slide? So slide up the finger which played the previous note but dont pick it instantly?

Yes the brackets mean you simply continue holding those notes.
And yes, those are legato slides. You pick the first note, then just slide into the second note, but don't pick it.

oh and about that legato slide, you still strum the note according to the timing right? you just dont strum it as soon as you make the slide

AFAIK you don't really pick the notes you slide to at all, pick the first one, slide to the next one according to timing

I'd just pick 14, slide to 12 (w/o picking), slide to 16 (again w/o picking) with vibrato, then pick 16, pick 16, slide to 14 (w/o picking), pick 14, slide to 12 (w/o picking).

Or you can just try around different ways to play this and just play it the way you think it sounds the best.

Well I was just interpreting the tab you posted.

Anyway, I do think you're wrong, it does sound like a slide in the song as well

You're right then, although it shouldnt matter too much if you strum the notes right?

well as i said before, you can just play around with that part a bit and see what sounds the best and what you're comfortable with playing. It's of course gonna make some difference if you pick the notes. Just try it out and see ^^

Indeed, play what feels natural. I've not watched the video but I did as KorYi did and interpreted the tab. Experiment and see what feels right for you, that's the guitarists way!
