Hi

With the usual risk understood that starting a thread and asking for opinions usually leads to disaster

What i want based on quite a bit of testing is a guitar that has

EMG pickups
Floyd Rose Trem
Interesting design (not a strat style fan)
A pricetag of £1000 ish

I have looked and I have found options from BC Rich and PRS but any suggestions welcome

Thanks

PRS SE Torero? I don't know if it's too strat style for you (I find the PRS design cool and interesting, personally), but it's a totally banging guitar and meets your spec.
Gear:

Guitars: Ibanez SV5470F, Ibanez Xpt700, Fender MIM Standard Stratocaster ('04-'05), Jackson Ps-2
Ashton AG200,
Amps: ENGL E530, Bugera 6262-212,
FX: TC Electronics G-major 2, Behringer EQ700, Morley Volume / Wah

Says the guy wirh a 15w roland cube....

Ug is full of amp nazis.

Buy a new guitar. I play a torero through a vox vt30.
Sure I want a new amp. But sometimes new guitars come first.
Why have a wicked amp if your guitar plays/sounds like shit?
And for me I use headphones alot so theres not really much to choose from.

Luke: give the torero a play. If you dont mind a flattop/body shape, you'll love it.

So he's not allowed to give advice because of the amp he owns? How the **** does that make sense?

Epiphone Les Paul Standard
Fender Frontman 25r (crappy)
MXR CAE WAH

No no. I myself own a shit amp and have given advice.
In fact have played the cube 15 @ every lesson i've had as well.
It covers metal better then my amp.
Its the irony of it all.

£1000 guitar through a line6 spider?

Hi

Good point, i have to update my sig

Spider gone... Marshall JMD50 in its place (its a space thing, it has to fix down the side of my office desk)

Spider was great within known limitations however i kept feckin about with the settings rather than actually play

Where i practice is all Laney kit so, amp a consideration but it will often be through different amps

Spoke to PMT and guitarguitar (local both) can only physically see the PRS today in the correct config. No epiphone, no ibanez with FR, and no clue about the ESP LTD (which does look SWEET!!!)

I was offered an alternative which is BC Rich Mockingbird Pro X which i can see next week, any thoughts on that one?
