So, I asked yesterday (on a rather controversial thread) about technical specs (DC resistance particularly) on the PRS SE pickups (no, not the ones made in the US). The first response was, "about the same as a SD JB/59 set." Absolute bullshit, and it lead to a bitchfest until it got closed.

OK, since I couldn't post to the original post, I'll post here and say that the verdict is in:
DC Resistance of SD JB: 16.4K (1)
DC Resistance of SD 59 neck: 7.4K (2)

DC Resistance of PRS SE Treble: +/- 10K
DC Resistance of PRS SE Bass: +/- 9K (3)

So, there you have it, NOT EVEN CLOSE.

(2) www.legendarytones.com/vinpicup2.html
(3) Cited from email received from Court Manley at PRS Tech Center at 7AM CT, 07/29/11 (which is TODAY).

SO THERE. LET ME GOOGLE THAT FOR YOU.

...OH WAIT, I ALREADY DID.

There's a reason that thread got closed, why make a new thread about the same thing?

Yeah man you put Gregs in his place. Meanwhile he'll enjoy all the prs guitars he can handle while you'll be worrying about DC resistance.

The difference between the 59 and the bass one is about 15%. You think that's not even close? You don't know that much about electronics do you? 15% is jack shit.

15% in electronics is basically standard deviation.

Exactly. His amp is probably chock full of 10% resistors and 20% capacitors - and all those tolerances add up.
