What is a good amp for me?

Budget- Something between ($100-$300), but I'm pretty flexible.

Music - I'm a fan of metal/rock/alternative, some bands are Shinedown, Seether, and Avenged Sevenfold, and I'm a fan of guitarist Synyster Gates.

New or Used - New

Location - I have access to various music stores and a Guitar Center.

Home or Gig?- I will use it for home practicing and some local talent shows

My Gear Now- Some amp that came with my Fender strat

Etc - I would like clean and distortion/overdrive

Thanks!

P.S. - What brand do you think is the best?

it's so cool to hate Gibson, even the federal Department of Justice hates them.
