If you keep it in a case with a dehumidifier, and only take it out to play, and don't leave it out exposed to the air when not in use, then it'll prolly be fine.

I keep a desiccant bag in my case, you know, the bead bags you find with new shoes that says, "do not eat".
The salty air will do a number on your frets after long exposure....long story short, I would take a beater/travel guitar.
I don't know about the guitar, but it could harm your chances of not looking like a douche bag.

I've done it before, and I agree with the whole beater/travel guitar theory. And the sand gets everywhere.

Heat can melt hide glues like those are used to hold down acoustic bridges and pickguards. Beware of the heat.
