This is a work in progress of mine. I'm not sure If I want to keep the first verse the way it is. I don't feel that it really relates to the rest of the song, so I may change it completely. Tell me what YOU think. :]

Lyrics by Cody Gudmundsen

Shelf Life

If I could build a ladder to space
I think I'd finally be free at last
Feel proud - climb it with all the grace
- In the world, just to leave this mass

Then I'd ask myself
You and me, why us?
Are we just on a shelf?
Stagnant and collecting dust?
I really hope so

Darling, these feelings can't be lost
They've already been found
I'd do anything, whatever the cost
To help you just hear this sound

Then I'd ask myself
You and me, why us?
Are we just on a shelf?
Stagnant and collecting dust?
I really hope so

We made our future before it existed
Seems it was made of sand stone
Eroded by the water of my persistence
Gone too fast for you to be shown

Everything I could have done for you
Everything that nobody else ever will
I don't know what it is we ran into
But I told you often
- That for you, I'd kill

When your world comes crashing down
I will be nowhere to be found
Unless you decide to hear my sound
Prove to me that you can hear my symphony

Then I'd ask myself
You and me, why us?
Are we just on a shelf?
Stagnant and collecting dust?
I really hope so
I really hope so
