I own an old OLP Musicman guitar. The only other electric guitar I have is a full hollowbody, so I am looking at improving my OLP. When over in LA recently I purchased a seymour duncan hotrodded humbucker set (SH-2n Jazz Model for the neck position with and an SH-4 JB Model for the bridge) and can get those put in soon, the body is a bit damaged though, and I was wondering how much I would be looking at to get it refinished and also where it could be done (I will be going to melbourne sometime this year, but I live in tasmania)
You could refinish it yourself if you are half way confident in yourself. But a nice old guitar like that, I'd have a pro do it too. I would guess you'd be looking at $300-$600 for a professional refinish, but that's just a guess.
I wouldn't be at all confident refinishing it myself. Do you think it would be worth refinishing this one, or just getting enough money together for a new one?
