I have an ibanez rg2ex1 in white finish, i wanted to use paint pens to use it, but what "preparations" should i do to the body before painting (i know to disasemble the whole thing before) can i just paint of top of the original finish or do i have to sand it first? I really love the original finish of white... but then its white it CALLS to put something on top of it..

If you want to do something similar to what Joe Satriani did to his "Black Dog" guitar, then don't do any preparation, just do your stuff.

If you want to seriously refinish it, don't use paint pens.
