Hello there, I don't know a great deal about amps so sorry for any mistakes in advance and if this is the wrong thread to post it in.

Currently ,I own a Peavy Vyper 30W with the Sanpera II pedal, I'm hoping to get a non digital/modelling amp of around the same wattage as its only for the house and occationaly pratice. I found that I don't really use many the effects and just been using the vyper to experiment abit with sounds etc.
I play mostly hard rock/metal, think Black Stone Cherry, Alterbridge, Metallica sort of thing, but I also use clean sounds quite abit. I'm only using a Vintage V100 atm, but I'll hopefully be getting something better at some point.
My budget will depend on how much I can sell the Vyper and Sanpera for, I'm guessing around £150 for them together, and I'll also throw in another £150 so say around £300.

So, any suggestions?
Thanks.

I'd say either get a used Laney VC50 or H&K Edition Tube, or save up some more cash. There aren't that many tube-amps that do high-gain well (on their own, at least) in that price range.

A Bugera V22 might suffice, if you add a boost... or it might not, you'd have to try one yourself.

Cheers for the suggestions, how much more money for what you have in mind? And what is it?

Well, if you want something new, the aforementioned H&K would be worth a look, or these:

The Traynor is great value, but seems to be out of stock at the moment. You'll probably want a boost along with it for the heavier stuff you play.

Thinking about it, a Bugera 6260/6262/333/333XL might do as well. They're rather big and at least the 333 (XL) didn't impress me much, but a lot of people seem to like them.

As far as used stuff is concerned, look into an Engl Thunder/Screamer. Should be around 400/500 (possibly up to 600 for the Screamer) quid or so. Pricey, but worth it.

I DO like the VC50 since it's a great amp, but their volume can be difficult to control.

If you get the 333XL, and boost it with a Tubescreamer, you'll be golden. That might be a bit outside of your price range, but if you can live with your Vypyr for a little longer, it'll pay off.
Kodiak bears make awesome bandmates.
