Hey guys after seeing a lot of constant threads on different effects I thought why no?
lets see if it'll work
if it doesnt then simply this thread will die

at 2.44 there's that sharp noise. im thinking it's some sort of synth but at 2.54 the guitar starts and i wonder what he's got on the guitar other than wah. may be a flanger?

My theories:

Pick scrape with pitch shift and flanger,
Divebomb with pitch shift and flanger,
Some other crazy synth/noise effect, probably with pitch shift and flanger.

Sounds like there is an octave going on in parts of the solo. Might be done with a pitch shifter

The effect in the solo of 'Over the Hills and Far Away' - Anyone know what that is?
Starts at 2:32

Sounds like he's doubled tracked the guitar parts, staggered them a little bit so one comes a little bit later than the other.

Cheers, I thought it was a backwards echo, similair to the one Jimi Hendrix used on Castles made of sand, but it didn't seem to match.

2:00, I'm not positive its an effect, but what is he doing to make his guitar sound like that?

EQ perhaps?

Take out a lot of bass and low mids.

It's done in post production by the sounds of it, but that's my guess on how to do it

I've always wondered, this band has a keytar/synth player (obviously), but at 1:33 in the middle of the solo, is that the synth coming in, or some crazy tremolo/flutter/etc effect?

Sounds like fast hammer ons with a bit of a dip from a whammy bar to me

It could also be an Ibanez LF7 to KISS. The bass/low mid drop could be a production trick, but that pedal can do it in a snap.
I am a fake mountain.
