Hey, I'm gettng SICK of my SG. It keeps needing more and more repairs/tweaking. The Ibanez RG3EXFM1 is the only guitar in my price range that looks like what I want right now which is:

$200ish USED
5-way switch
Humbuckers at neck and bridge
NO Floating Trems
Easy Good Action
Fast Neck (No thicker than my SG)
24 Frets is nice

Please dont say to increase my budget, because even if I can more money (I just bought a Fender Hellcat Acoustic) I wouldnt spend any more. I just want something that's still semi in the beginner range, but a little more stable in tuning and sustain and build quality.

Any other thoughts?

EDIT: Just thought of this. I play Classic and Modern Rock/Alternative a lot. But I also play with crunchy/clean tones too.

A lot of lower priced ESP's look nice too. How are those at entry levels?

RG3EX1 is a great guitar. I'd replace the designed by EMG pickups but I'd say it's a fair upgrade off your epi.

Now that I look at it, not too fond of the inlays on the RG3EXFM1, the ESP LTD EC-100QM looks nicer IMO, and its cheaper with nearly same specs. hmm ill look up reviews

I have the 3EXFM1. Plays great, and when you finally do have more money, a pickup change turns it into a beast.

How much do you think those new pickups cost? And can I get opinions on the ESP's?

Sorry didn't see you had replied lol. I got my set for $80 total thanks to the awesomeness of craigslist, but I believe a single new Dimarzio runs from $80-$110 or so.
