Hi UG! I've got a problem here...
I want to put a set of 13-72 strings on my B.C Rich (scale 25.5") and tune it to drop A. I've done it multiple times.
After a longer break I've returned to these strings. The problem lies in the thickest string - it keeps popping out when I'm tuning it.
The guitar is equipped with Original Floyd Rose.
Can anyone help me? I'm really frustrated...

it's likely that the string is simply too big-try using a smaller gauge?

Hi, I am looking for an amp setting close to the sound of bands like Black Veil Brides.

I was using .62, but they were too loose for me. It's not that it's too big, I was using the same set and the same tuning for almost half year - without problems. So there must be a way to solve this problem.

have you checked the block in the string holder to see if it's worn down?

If you're tuning to drop z you need to have more space in the nut for it to fit properly. Tbh, I think you would be better off with a baritone scale guitar (or a 7 string)

Yes, it's in a good condition. You see, when I've checked the end of the string, the wound was damaged.. it's just too much force was used to tune the string, it couldn't withstand it, so it popped out. It has to do something with the bridge..

@edit - yeah I'm planning to buy a 7 string

Do you actually use the higher notes a lot, because otherwise a Baritone would be more suitable (assuming your hands can cope with the scale)?

Have you considered stringing backwards, with the ball end on the tuner? I know some people actually do that, and with strings that thick, isn't there a bit of a taper? That would probably fit better into the tremolo.

Thanks for help! I've finally put these strings on, and tuned. I know that I could do it!

The fuck are you using a .72 in a 6 string for? O_o

You'd be fine with a .60 if that.

I don't blame him, I like my low strings to be super tight

This. I hate using anything lower then a 50 in drop D or else It's feels weird doing gallops.
