sorry if this has been covered, i wanted to get your opinion on something. Generally when i am restoring an old guitar or even just switching out Pickups i tend to leave everything else alone if it works. Is there any benefit to buying/installing more expensive volume controls, switches or even input jacks if the old ones work? I pretty much figure if they work and are in good tight condition there is no benefit to replacing them. Am i correct in this assumption?

Good tone caps definatley help, I thought when I installed some high quality pots, wire, jacks, and switch there was a slight increase in clarity, and output.

old scratchy pots should be replaced, but if you don't see a problem with them you may want to. all the little electrical components are cheap anyway. (except like preamps and pickups and the like)
