Didn't searchbar. Need some quick answers.

My bassists amp is broken. We have no idea why. We originally thought the speakers were blown since the amp would pop and fizzle when he would play until the volume just died out and then, eventually, died out forever.

Now? Threw in new speakers, problem persists. Once it gets to a certain volume threshold, commence popping and, for lack of a better term, farting and buzzing like no one's business. We have no idea what it possibly could be. Any ideas as to what it could be and/or suggestions on how to fix it?

Thanks, guys.

EDIT: It's GK Backline 210, a solid state amp.

Tube or solid state?

This is terrible advice. Even worse than the useless dry, sarcastic comment I made.

I'm too old for the Jim Morrison look now. When I was gigging I had a fine arse.
