Thrown like a brick and crushed by a hammer
We found ourselves lost in the dark
Never to find our way out of this mess
We’ll never know how it started

Tossed among leaves, float down the river
I’ve found myself falling apart
I look in your eyes for some kind of sign but
We’ll never know how it started

What I wish to be is all my eyes will see
And when the time is right I will listen
I’m afraid to feel what I know to be real
I’ll never know what I’m missin’

To sit among clouds, parlors or pastures
They’re all paths I chose to ignore
I’ll stay by your side and find the reason why
We’ll never know how it started

What I wish to be is all my eyes will see
And when the time is right I will listen
I’m afraid to feel what I know to be real
I’ll never know what I’m missin’

Quite good. The ines in the second stanza seem a bit uneven, and while imagery is great, if it were me I'd talk a bit about what's supposed to be going on in reality relating back to the imagery. And I like the use of repetition. Could you take a look at mine, "The Midwest is a Vast Thing to Drive Across?"
