I'm looking for a simple distortion pedal. Probably all i need would be tone and volume knobs, and a boost switch. I have a Marshall MG100 and have been told by many people to get a new amp or dist pedal, and i am too broke to buy a big new amp. I have tried using a Boss metal zone but it doesnt sound great :L

If any of you know a good pedal then please share

Not too many distortion pedals will sound great with the MG. You should probably just save up for a new amp.

This thread isn't about ostriches it's about pedals and neither is this forum.

I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

are you using your current distortion pedal through the clean channel? if not then it will sound like ass for sure.

an overdrive will not do a damn thing with this amp.

As said, a new amp is what you likely need to really improve your sound and the money you would spend on a pedal would probably be better put towards it.

That said, how much are you looking to spend on a pedal? The Barber Dirty Bomb is pretty well regarded around here, but it might be out of your price range (Unless you have a search used). General consensus would be to avoid most pedals with 'Metal' in the name, MXR Fullbore Metal, Boss Metal Zone or Metalcore etc..
