hello i just bought a Jackson js32 king v about a month ago and the nut is already getting grooves in it and their is chunks of metal coming off of it. is this normal? is their any way yo fix it and if i have to replace it how much is a good quality locking nut worth.

Seems like you tightened the nut too tight when changing strings.

I'd say get a new one to prevent your guitar from going out of tune.
But make sure when you tighten the nut to twist the screws until they're snug. But don't force it.
Doing this will prevent it from stripping against the strings and screws.

when i bought it the nut was to tight they were all stuck on when i was changing the strings

Seems like it was already tightened too tight.

But I'd say get a new locking nut like this one:

I bought the black one for my DK2 and it works great. As long as you lock it properly, you won't have any problems.

You twist until you feel it won't budge anymore without using brutal force.
Locking nuts aren't meant to be tightened extrememly tight. Just enough that the screws feel like they're snuggly tight when twisting them.
