I have a friend with a 2002 Fender MIM strat in mint condition who wants to trade for my Schecter 006 Elite with upgraded EMG pickups. This a good trade?

Play it thru your amp and pedals before you trade to REALLY make sure you like the sound.

Was planning on doing all that before I traded. I play mostly hardcore/metalcore stuff but Im in love blues funk and I have zero guitar to plays for that style of music. I was mainly worried about it being a MIM strat and how well they keep their value.

KEEP THE SCHECTER only usa and japanese strats are good
so dont trade

Nope, not true. Mexican strats are known to be and miss. So one might be as good as you'd expect a cheap Squier to be, while another may be as good as you'd expect an American strat to be. And the Squier Classic Vibe series is hailed as one of the best guitars in it's price range, and often said to be better than the Mexican guitars, and they are made in China.
