There’s Alaska.
And there’s a car. And there’s Alaska moving
outside the window and it isn’t
stopping, spilling itself onto
our conversation and into
the silences that sometimes we can’t
avoid.
There is a pace to it, earthy and overwhelming, a space
that rolls and grows to be this chasm, chiselling
at our confidence in what we know to
be true
about ourselves and what is always real outside
of us. And we race it with words and sentences;
we race it good.
But we never seem to actually win anything, and
we just
let it run.
We let the fog run at our sides, let the needle run past eighty, ninety, one hundred; let
the gas run out on us when
it’s dark and we’re
lost and
there’s no
way
back.
Let it run down our souls, let it rip away the masks
we forgot
we once
put
on… and suddenly be
naked
under a moon that doesn’t belong to us and we

dance.
This is not a pipe

Loved this part. I think it could do with changing the structure just a little bit (I'm not too familiar with this style, sorry) cause I kinda had to go back and re-read some parts that threw me off, but overall it's great. I'm guessing (from the structure) that this isn't for a song?
