Hey guys,

I've got a Peavey 6505 and recently someone told me it would be good if I took out the plate behind the grill. It's the plate containing the 'Peavey'- and '6505'-logo.

But I wonder what the benifits are. Is it gonna make my amp better? I dunno, ventilation or somthing? Or is it just a beauty-mod so you can look into the amp and have the tube glowing while you play.

If it's just a beauty-mod...**** it.
If it's an upgrade...where do I start?

what do y'all think?

yeah, that looks kinda nice...but does it have any other benifits?

It adds another 4 stages of gain to the Lead channel.. Makes those "Diezels" sound like a German shizzer movie.

Id actually like to ask, do you have to open the whole structure of the amp to do that? I mean, I can't just slip it out, Id have to open the casing or so?
