The now me is looking
at the old me's version
of the future me.
And it's disappointing, knowing
that it will all be
just a joke.
But he won't be laughing;
he'll be waiting
for a punchline.

And he'll look back
at me now,
wishing I didn't let him down,
wishing I didn't play the part.
All the while knowing
it's too late for him, remembering;
a man walks into a bar.
We're only strays.
This was an interesting read. It was definitely a unique perspective and subject, and I loved the ending. Very creative, I enjoyed this.
